The Job
Hazard Analysis continues to be one of the strongest tools for making the workplace
a safe place. This training session will focus on the principles
of Job Hazard Analysis, how to effectively use JHAs on the job and how to use
them to improve safety in the workplace beyond the immediate job.
Advanced
Safety Audit Training
Advanced Safety Auditing is one of the foundation building blocks for ATC's safety
culture. Along with the JHA this tool can be used to shape ATC's future safety
performance. Attendees will learn the fundamentals and principles of Advanced
Safety Auditing. Upon completion of the training attendees will feel comfortable
with Advanced Safety Auditing whether as the auditor or the audited.
WHY
TREE Incident Analysis
This training
provides alternative methods for getting to the key factors that are involved
in an incident. The Why Tree Training utilizes real shipboard incidents
to teach the Why Tree analytical technique. This intuitive method of incident
analysis can be applied to the majority of incidents on board from "Near
Misses" to "Lost Time Injuries."
Leadership
ASA
Upon completion of training, attendees will be able to better utilize the Advanced
Safety Audit Process to promote safety, and enhance their shipboard safety culture.
The Leadership ASA (LASA) is focused on demonstrating commitment, assessing culture,
and improving performance.
Principles
of Machine Guarding
This
training session is for all crewmembers
who work around machinery with exposed moving parts.
It is intended
to familiarize crewmembers with the hazards,
mitigation methods, and safe practices for working
around machinery.
This training will include a follow-up
workplace evaluation and assessments of hazards in
the workplace.
Fall
Protection
Gravity always works. This training is intended
to familiarize crewmembers with fall hazards, mitigation
methods, and safe practices relative to falls.
It includes hands-on training in the use of fall
protection PPE and techniques. This training will
include a follow-up workplace evaluation and assessments
of hazards in the workplace.
Power
and Hand Tool Safety
Power and Hand tools are widely used in the workplace.
This training session will provide information on
common hazards associated with power and hand tools.
Training will include common hazards, tool management
techniques, and how to select PPE to match the tool
and its intended use. This training will include
a follow-up workplace evaluation and assessments
of hazards in the workplace.
Industrial
Rigging Inspection for Users
This quick hands-on inspection training will show crewmembers
what to look for when selecting rigging for safe lifting operations. By knowing
what to look for, crewmembers will be less likely to use equipment that might
fail during use.
American
Red Cross CPR and AED
This American Red Cross CPR and AED training meets
the needs of license and certification upgrades.
It includes hands-on and lecture sessions.
MSDS
and Chemical Safety
This training session is for all crewmembers and is intended to familiarize crewmembers
with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). This includes: How to read the MSDS,
how to use the MSDS, and how to protect themselves from chemical hazards aboard
ship.
Asbestos
Awareness Training
Asbestos was commonly used in shipboard construction until the late 1970s. This
material has many wonderful qualities as a construction material but
has been identified as a health threat if not handled properly. This
program will familiarize the attendee with asbestos, its history, possible
locations aboard, health effects, and safety procedures associated with asbestos.
Principles
of Atmospheric Testing
Trainees will be introduced to the operating principles for atmospheric testing
equipment, testing techniques, and equipment management standards. At the conclusion
of the training, trainees will be able to assess their current practices and
determine areas where improvement is needed and where practices are sound.
